Remember those? Books, are profoundly therapeutic, when you settle down on your favorite couch, perhaps a cup of tea at your side, a soft fleece blanket to keep you warm during these cold winter nights, scented candle flickering as you lean toward the warm light of your lamp and begin to dive into a new book. Whether it's a fiction, biography or a self-help book, what ever your preference, you know you will plunge into a new world, giving your brain a jolt of imagery, and a feeling of curiosity and anticipation every page you turn.
One of my favorite fiction books was The Da Vinci Code, and my all time favorite non fiction by Marianne Williamson is "Everyday Grace", I just can't say enough about this book, it literally provided me with tools to help me through a deep depression caused by personal loss. I highly recommend it.
Whatever type of books you gravitate toward is fine, as long as you make time for them, nothing like picking one up and feeling the texture of the paper and the smell of it. Plus it gives you a break from the continuous scrolling of your phone!
Go grab a book!
"I don't believe the devil, I don't believe his book, but the truth is not the same without the lies he made up" ~ God Part II, U2
How can we appreciate Light without ever having been in the dark? How can we enjoy warmth without have ever been cold? How do we understand being full without experiencing hunger?
How do we know Truth without recognizing the Lies?
It's quick, easy and will benefit your body and overall health, "celery juice". Yes, it's that simple. Start your morning with a quick home made juice, here's how to make it.
1. Take your celery stock and cut a hand full, wash and place in your Nutri-bullet or Magic bullet.
2. Add water, squirt an entire lime, add two table spoons of Aloe Vera water, and run your bullet (or blender).
3. Strain to get only the juice, and enjoy!
Research has shown proven health benefits of drinking celery juice. Here are the findings:
Yoga is a full-bodied, pro-active practice. Yoga aims toward better health and longevity.
"Yoga" is translated as union, or joining. Yogic Peace could be described as combining opposites to find peace: happy and sad, good and bad, cold and hot, etc. From the first time that I practiced the art, I felt the distant calling of everything and nothing. The matching of extremes brought me great comfort, in a society that strives for great performance and avoids pain at all costs.
Practicing yoga, as I consciously live and purposefully breathe, I am in unison with my world. Body, Mind & Spirit create connectivity with our planet, our universe, and each other. Questions remained. What is the key to sustaining the union? Do I practice yoga morning and night, to endure the day? Or, can I take the feeling of calm acceptance into the day with me?
Experience was "the" teacher, so I learned by doing yoga: living and breathing. The key to sustaining peace of mind (top) is to begin every thought with pure intention/gut instinct (bottom). Contemplating every decision, I ask my deepest element. Is this it? Is there more? Now, or later? All the questions that come to mind (top) can be answered with a guttural answer (bottom), yes or no. The tricky part is feeling the answer and interpreting through feelings from the heart. As I filter my gut instincts with emotion, my intuition is a strong guide for my mind.
Yoga tunes the spine and reforms the balance within all systems in the body: endocrine glands, emotions, physical matter and nerves. With a healthy spleen, adrenal, and thymus, my brain is left with much less of a burden. The brain is not reeling with thoughts, it is a processing computer waiting to be used.
Living to breathe, I learn that gut instincts are true, emotions are real and logic is insightful.
